On Tuesday I blogged about helping your members achieve their goals as a powerful way to build and attract loyal members who will tell their story to others. Today, I’ll give you some of my ideas on how you might help members achieve their goals and sing your praises.
- Tailor an ordinary cash back rewards program into an “Achieve Your Goals” program. Instead of just giving a member cash back for credit and debit card purchases, put that reward into a special goal account. Help your member save for their goal by encouraging them to save the reward money in a special account that they also contribute to on a regular basis.
- Run a “Grant a Wish” campaign. Every time a member uses their credit or debit card in the next month, they are automatically entered to win something of value to them. Maybe it’s tickets to a big game, a new wardrobe or simply a weekend spa retreat. Partner with a local business or merchant to participate in the reward to defray your costs and co-market the event in your community. Give double entries for new members that apply during the campaign.
- Help the community. More and more these days participating in philanthropy and charities are goals that many people set. Offer a card program that allows your members to participate in a charity or give back to the community. Try offering a card that donates a percentage of all purchases each month to a different charity, school district or local philanthropic organization. Report on the results of the donations made each month. Use local news outlets to get the message out.
- Go green. Saving the environment may also be a way to help a member achieve their goals. Instead of cash back, offer carbon credits that offset your members imprint on the environment. Being unique and targeting your members specific goals and interests is key to building loyal members.
